PM:  Calibs + quartz flats.  Start log.  Assemble manuals and cheat sheets.
     Log sheets in folder in bookcase.
     Prospero Quick Ref Card for CCDS.
     Prospero Manual:  Instrument Control and Image Acq Environment.
     Note that specifying 'bias', 'object' etc only sets header info.
          Exposure taken by 'go'.
     Finder IN.  Select lamps in GUI.
     Arcs:  Grating tilt etc in CCDS-Specific Prospero Commands sheet
            CENTER 5000 = set central wavelength
            SETFOCUS ### = collimator focus; scale = values in
                 brackets!!  Good value posted on collimator itself.
            Hg = v. bright, 1 sec

Evening:
     Final calibs.  Finder OUT.
     Opening:  Observer's Guide for 2.4-m
            Dewar fill:  need to hold by plastic tie until tube
                 frozen.  Hold again when defrosting.  Mark time.
            Open CCDS hatch on gold unit, E side (by railing).
                 Turn and pull switch knob.
            Pointing:  xtcs setup:  Set Ra/Dec Encoders.  Obs Guide.
            Don't focus on bright star -- wait till on field.
                 Focus with paddle.  Note focus comment in Obs Guide.
                 Prospero Quick Ref:  telfocus ###
     Note additional During Night comments in Obs Guide.
     xtcs:  enter coords, hit Send Coords, hit Go.
     Rotator:  Manual control paddle in dome, CCW = +PA.  Obs Guide.
                 One person watching rotator angle value on console,
                     while other controls paddle, < +/-90 deg.
                 Make tiny ( < 1 deg) adjustments in Rotator GUI.
                 Rotator angle = PA.
     Guide star:  
            JSkyCalc (may be on other desktop):  Enter coords again.
                 Hit Guide Stars 2x, brings up finder chart.
                 Enter rotator angle.
                 Click on star, Move Probe
            On Guider Console:  Expose tab:  'continuous', Start.
                 Will show star.  Can focus with silver box.
                 Hit Stop (expos. continuous).
                 Guide tab:  
                       Settings:  Enter -90 - rotator angle.
                       Expose, hit Start; (Calib, Start);
                       Track, Start.
                       Center object on slit before Track on!
                 Note that guider control will not allow starting
                       guiding after the start of an exposure.

Morning:
     Dome light switch in foyer!
     Closing:  Observer's Guide.
            Slew to zenith, a little past (E), track in and OFF.
            Reset rotator to 0.
            THEN close mirror covers.
            Dome control box with yellow button is in computer room,
                 lower-left corner.  If dome not home, go manual with
                 dome control box in dome.  Then reset yellow button
                 and dome azimuth = 320 in TCS GUI.
            Dewar, write time.
            Lights off in dome.
     Calibs.  When done, lamps OFF.
     Data transfer can be done from mdm24ws2 workstation, which shares
          file system with hiltner.  May even share with mcgraw.


DO NOT MOVE THE ROTATOR WITH MIRROR COVERS CLOSED!
