MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2000 Nov 13 Observer(s): Schroeder Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: CCDS Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 6 pm until 3 am. Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: High clouds interfered with a few observations. The pointing of the telescope continues to be off by a few arcminutes and is large enough that normally the object you are trying to acquire is outside of the field of view of the guider camera once centered, let alone the acquisition camera. Normally, at least for the objects I'm studying, the error puts the targets off the screen in the southwest direction. I have written four pages for future observers: 1) A Nightly Start-up procedure 2) A Home Telescope procedure 3) A Computer Start-up procedure 4) A Morning Shut-Down procedure The write-ups for these were either non-existent or out-of- date. I can e-mail the documents for those interested in using them. Contact me at jps @ astro.columbia.edu. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Nov 14 [6:44:20]
