MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Aug 29

Instrument: direct echelle ccd

Worked for 4 hours (first half of the night)
Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the summary for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.
   Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable
   End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable

Observing Summary:

problems with the high voltage on the guider image tubes
see trouble report

problewms with guider motion, 
guider motion was working ok , then when sent to origin
from center it never arrived, could hear motor moving.
xmis window would not respond, so killed xmis and tries again
would not init, killed xmis, hit reset button, restarted xmis
still would not init, but responed to stop. 
guider appears to be out of beam.
