MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Feb 20 Observer(s): Lepine, Zurek Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: MkIII spectrograph Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: We observed what appears to be a chromatic aberration in the spectrograph configuration. We focussed the telescope using the method described in the manual. While our stars were well focussed in the 5000-7000A spectral range (and on the guider camera), spectra showed stars to be significantly out-of-focus in the 7000-8000A spectral range. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Feb 21 [6:59:23]
