MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Jun 01 Observer(s): Jules Halpern Institution(s): Columbia U. Instrument: Echelle CCD Direct Worked for 9.0 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: One of the best nights ever. Lower temperatures apparently improved the seeing. Throughout the night several short exposures were obtained with sub-arcsecond seeing. The 4-inch U filter, after being cleaned of its adhesive residue, is performing well enough, with approximately 6 percent loss of throughput, according to duplicated standard star measurements. The filter wheel is performing well mechanically. I have not yet tested the performance of flats and darks, but I see no obvious problems. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Jun 2 [4:46:59]
