MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Mar 11 Observer(s): Fesen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: MKIII+Echelle Worked for 5.5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Observed main targets SN 2001B and 2000ew. SN 2000ew was too faint to observe, esp. with clouds coming and going every 10-20 minutes. Had to use a blind off-set and hand guide. After 3 hrs of this, got only a poor spectrum. Data on SN 2001B seriously compromised due to broken drop-out...was using only 1/3rd of the mirror. Due to continued clouds, closed up at 1am. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Mar 12 [0:34:58]
