MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2002 Oct 23 Observer(s): A. Stutz Institution(s): OSU Instrument: 8K No Observing (see comments below) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 7PM until 11PM. Observing Summary: After taking some bias frames I noticed that the dewar was not at the right presure, so I refilled it. After that it returned tto the normal presure (.3mT) Then clouds rolled in, and I had to stop. Humidity was high. While it was cloudy, Jen ran some tests on dome flats. While one of the exposures was reading out there was a software error: High voltage not enabled at utility board for 1st 2nd Then, after spewing out this error a few times, the problem seemed to go away, ie, the software gave no more errors. However, every exposure after this was over-exposed. A 30 sec R_tj M31 image had a mean of 25000, instead on a mean around 4000. Not knowing what was going on, I stoped observing. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2002 Oct 24 [0:23:18]
