MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Apr 01 Observer(s): Martin Bureau, Davor Krajnovic Institution(s): Columbia, Leiden Instrument: Echelle f/7.5 direct imaging Worked for 10.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds High Mid: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds High End: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds High Observing Summary: The conditions we highly variable all night, from thick cirrus preventing all work (about 1.5 hours at the beginning of the night) to little noticable extinction. When possible to guide, we took long exposures and simply increased their numbers to compensate for the poor weather. We managed to complete 5 objects this way. Because of high winds from the South, we worked on Northern objects all night, simultaneously avoiding the wild slewing of the telescope. The seeing was also variable, typically 1.4 to 1.8 arcseconds. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Apr 3 [5:54:34]
