MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Apr 03 Observer(s): Martin Bureau, Davor Krajnovic Institution(s): Columbia, Leiden Instrument: Echelle f/7.5 direct imaging Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Except for some intermediate wind that prevented us from pointing N-NW at the beginning of the night, the observations proceeded without a glith. We continued our program of obtaining deep/long exposures of nearby galaxies and completed 8 additional objects. The sky was clear most of the night but the seeing poor (>1.5 arcseconds). In the presence of Bob at the beginning and middle of the night, we attempted to reproduce the N-S anomalous movements of the telescope observed many times this run... without success. Good and bad news simultaneously! ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Apr 4 [6:21:37]
