MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Apr 05 Observer(s): Martin Bureau, Davor Krajnovic Institution(s): Columbia, Leiden Instrument: Echelle f/7.5 direct imaging Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The sky was devoid of clouds but with bad transparency all night. The seeing started good but quickly dereriorated and stayed around and above 2 arcseconds for much of the night. Accordingly, we obtained deep/long exposures of our sample objects without attempting photometry, completing 7 galaxies. No probblem at all occured except that the pointing was quite wrong at the begining of the night (about 1 degree?). We recalibrated it by manually searching for a Mv=2 star with the guider positioned at the center of the CCD and refining the pointing on a subsequent object (lost about 30min in the process). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Apr 6 [6:21:46]
