MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Jun 25

Worked for 9 hours (all night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Seeing 2.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   Mid: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   End: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

brief trouble with filter wheel around 11pm.  after i slewed
to a new target and took the first exposure, iraf displayed 
an image that suggested the wheel might be stuck between
two filters.  then noticed that xmis displayed 'miscomm' 
underneath the filter labels.  (manual doesn't mention this 
message in troubleshooting.)

reinitialized twice, then killed and restarted xmis, then killed
and restarted xmis, xtcs3, ximtool, and iraf .. 'miscomm'
still flashes every few minutes, but images have been fine for 
the rest of the night.

(i guess it's possible that 'miscomm' always pops up now and 
then, and i just never noticed.)
