MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Mar 28 Observer(s): MartinBureau Institution(s): Columbia, Nottingham Instrument: Echelle f/7.5 direct imaging Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 3.0 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate, Seeing 2.3 to 5.2 Mid: Seeing 3.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate, Seeing 2.3 to 6! End: Seeing 3.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate, Seeing 2.7 to 3.2. Observing Summary: Worked all night, imaging a succession of targets (galaxies). There was probably some occasional cirrus but the main problem was the seeing, which was highly variable and systematically bad. About half of the data acquired will be of no use (greater than 3 arcsecond seeing and up to 6!). No problem to report except another instance of wild slewing as reported 2 days ago (telescope pointing in same direction). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Mar 29 [6:47:32]
