MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Oct 07 Observer(s): armstrong, tuttle Institution(s): columbia Instrument: templeton/direct No Observing (see comments below) Conditions were Overcast most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Observing Summary: High humidity and a bunch of clouds. no observing. 'It's Way Dark Up Here' The stars have gone tonight The moon's a vanished sight Our Mars does not burn red And Jupiter's a-bed The Milky Way ain't there All light has hid somewhere. A blanket overcast Hangs low, though moving fast. So how long will this last? And shall it soon be past? Might wakefulness outlast Such weather that's amassed? No, my zeal's been surpassed And notably outclassed. For sadly I foresee Exhaustion and ennui Will beckon me to rest Through this tempest's* egress. *Okay, so it's not really a tempest. But it sounds more poetic than 'clouds', don't you think? ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Oct 8 [1:55:55]
