MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2003 Oct 31 Observer(s): Bureau, Kamphuis Institution(s): Columbia, Groningen Instrument: Echelle, f/7.6 Direct Imaging Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 2.2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds High End: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: We continued our optical imaging program of the Sauron early-type galaxies. We were clouded out for 2 hours at the beginning of the night but then worked through a large patch of clear sky for a few hours, although high winds restricted were we could point and lead to bad tracking in a number of cases. The last third of the night, we worked through thin (and not so thin!) cirrus, increasing our exposure times. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2003 Nov 1 [5:22:29]
