MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2004 Jan 02 Observer(s): armstrong, Institution(s): columbia Instrument: templeton/direct Worked for 2 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Evening began with high humidity, which jumped around unpredictably and briefly ( ~2.5 hours) stayed below 80%. Then climbed steadily and had coated everything with condensation by 1am. Not any better now (3:20am.) Almost an exact repeat of last night's pattern, except only 80% as bad. Managed to get nearly 2 hours time series in I band on DW Cancri. Hope it produces something useful! The day brought sunlight shining in a sky of deep bright blue. Then sunset melted into night to paint a muted hue Through which we all expected to be finding quite a view Of what we've been a'missing: Cam and Gem, to name a few. We finished dinner early, taking fair air as our cue That after three days straight of fate, there'd be some work to do. The dewar done, the night begun, and we about to slew ... When moisture draped us in its cape, to coat our hope with dew. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2004 Jan 3 [3:36:45]
