MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2004 Jan 05 Observer(s): armstrong; gemdjian Institution(s): columbia Instrument: templeton/direct Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Some clouds here and there, but mainly a great night. 2 long times series. Seeing a little variable, but generally stayed ~1.5. No trouble. 'Sorry, Jules' So HETE's new announcement at four forty-three UT Predicted a new sighting to within one sole degree. Anticipating progress, on the telephone then we Discussed a plan of action, and agreed to wait and see. Well, 'wait-and-see' we did, until quite soon a new decree Confirmed that of a true detection, their poor 'scope was free.
