MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2004 Jan 05

Worked for 13 hours (all night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm
   Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm
   End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Some clouds here and there, but mainly a great night.  2 long times 
series.  Seeing a little variable, but generally stayed ~1.5. 
 No trouble.

So HETE's new announcement at four forty-three UT
Predicted a new sighting to within one sole degree.

Anticipating progress, on the telephone then we
Discussed a plan of action, and agreed to wait and see.

Well, 'wait-and-see' we did, until quite soon a new decree
Confirmed that of a true detection, their poor 'scope was free.

(How tedious and thwarting I imagine it must be
To track elusive traces of a fleeting GRB!)
