Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The start of the night was dreadful. Around about midnight it cleared up and only got better. Went straight through to sunrise. Problem with guider monitor getting weirder & worse. Ditto west button on control room hand paddle. 'Progress' Well, David, your new field To frightful luck did yield. And Jules, your HETE site Shows no new hope tonight. And Joe, your precious star Is getting mauled afar. The telescope ain't broke The guider didn't croak 'Tis clouds that play the joke. Think I'll go have a coke... The cokes, I see, are gone. So no caffeine til dawn. And I already yawn And yawn and yawn and yawn. Been fourteen nights up here. It hasn't much been clear. Am feeling rather queer ... Insanity is near? ------------------------------ Submitted on 2004 Jan 12 [15:34:38]
