MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2005 Apr 14 Observer(s): Martin Bureau, Bettina Gerken Institution(s): Oxford University Instrument: Direct Imaging, f/7.6, echelle Worked for 09:30 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Continuation of an optical imaging follow-up of the Sauron sample of early-type galaxies. The entire night was essentially perfect, photometric from beginning to end. The seeing was average but again we did bother with it too much, as our main goal was to obtain short photometric exposures of all our remaining uncalibrated targets. We achieved this essentially completely, so that all our data can now be calibrated. This is a huge step which will allow us to bring closure to the Spring part of our survey. What a relief! No technical problem whatsoever to report, although did have problem with wind shakes early on, when pointing more or less against the wind in the North-West (no choice!). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2005 Apr 15 [7:25:33]
