MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Aug 22 Observer(s): S. Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: Mark III spectrograph Worked for 3 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Rain from 7 until 9. Beg: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable, thunderstorm, rain Mid: Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: I became one of the few people to have used both the 2.4m and 1.3m in the same night (though not at the same time). The sky cleared around 2:00am. Having completed all the end-of-night targets for the 2.4m parallax run, I decided to start the spectroscopic program on the 1.3m right away. Observed until sunrise, caught 14 targets. Incidentally, I tried to rotate the instrument 90 degrees but found out this would be impossible without ripping a few cables. Being able to orient the slit E-W, though, would be useful to complete the program. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Aug 23 [5:50:39]
