MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Aug 23 Observer(s): S. Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: MkIII spectrograph Worked for 4 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A rocky night. Light rain at the very beginning. All cleared up around 9:30pm with humidity down to safe level. Observed from 10PM to midnight, then clouds came back. All cleared up again around 2:30AM, observed from 3:00AM to 4:30AM when I had to shut down again because of high humidity. All in all took spectra of 14 targets. I managed to figure out how to rotate the instrument 90 degrees by rearranging a few cables. All is well. For a few pointings at larger HA, I couldn't set the telescope in Declination. Had to do targets closer to the meridian. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Aug 24 [5:40:41]
