MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Aug 25 Observer(s): S.Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: MkIII spectrograph + Wilbur Worked for 4 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 10 until 3. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable, isolated storm Mid: Clear, Winds Light & Variable, high humidity End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Clear at sunset, I started observing, filled with hope. But then out of nowhere came this sudden storm thundering a few miles to the south and dropping a sprinkle of rain on us. Had to do lightning shutdown. An hour later, the storm moved away, I reopened. But only a few more targets done that I had to shutdown again, high humidity levels ruining a perfectly clear sky. After 3AM the humidity finally receded and I reopened, observing until sunrise. Did 23 targets in all. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Aug 26 [5:47:16] NOTE: This report replaces the previous 1.3m telescope observing report for 2006 Aug 25
