MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Mar 20 Observer(s): chris peters Institution(s): dartmouth college Instrument: mark III + templeton Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 2 UT until 3 UT. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Most of the night was spent observing CVs, most notably an object we call HS0943. It was due to this long stretch of observing HS0943 that a problem occurred. The telescope became oriented such that the dewar came in contact with the liquid nitrogen tank. This caused the vacuum in the dewar to become corrupted, and the CCD warmed up, forcing an early finish to the night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Mar 21 [5:52:54]
