MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2006 Nov 01 Observer(s): Atwood & Eastman Institution(s): OSU Instrument: 4K Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: We got some first light images with the 4K! We took some standard star fields and did a quick aperture photometry on the raw images and got relative photometry to a few hundreths. We had some difficulty getting the telescope to point to better than 10 arcmin at the beginning of the night, which we thought may have been because of the balance or preload that was adjusted tonight for the 4K. However, the last half of the night the pointing was ok, so I'm not sure what the problem was. I ended the night with a couple pretty pictures of M1 and M42/M43, along with pairs flats to characterize the detector. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2006 Nov 2 [7:17:57]
