MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Jan 27 Observer(s): Ann Kapusta Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Mark III + Templeton Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Conditions throughout the night were ideal, so another really great night of observing. Spent the night taking spectra of primarily one CV, with a couple other CV targets thrown in for good measure. Ran into a computer problem about 5 hours into the night. The whole system (McGraw) unexpectedly, and seemingly without cause, froze. The system was so frozen even the mouse wouldn't move. We had to do a hard restart and when it booted back up, everything worked fine for remainder of the night. It was very strange. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Jan 28 [7:00:04]
