MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Jan 28 Observer(s): Ann Kapusta Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Mark III + Templeton Worked for 10 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 18:00 until 1:00. Beg: Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Conditions at the start of the night were fair at best. I opened, hoping for the best, but couldn't even find my first (and one of my brightest) targets. For the next few hours I repeated the process of stowing the telescope, watching the clouds, finding a small opening, and attempting to find something to take spectra of. Eventually, around 1:00, the clouds dissipated and the night became fairly decent. From 1:00 on, I took spectra of CV's for the next 5.5 hours with no cloud interruptions. All things considered, tonight turned out to be a decent night of observing. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 Jan 29 [7:06:55]
