MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 May 11 Observer(s): Bentz Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Tonight was much smoother than last night. The guider was still relatively well focused from last night, so I just left it alone and didn't attempt to make any fine adjustments as it would have to be done manually. The light leak also seemed to disappear after the new metal tape was put over the opening on the telescope. I took sky flats tonight, 5 exposures with 10000-14000 counts each. I managed to fit in all 7 objects with 3 exposures for each (4 for MCG08) as well as 2 standards with 2 exposures each. The last exposure of Mrk290 is, as usual, pushing dawn. I had to play with the guider voltage and stretch levels on the last exposure, but I manged to keep guiding for the whole 20 minutes. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2007 May 12 [4:54:08]
