MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 May 17

Worked for 4 hours (first half of the night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.
   Beg: Seeing 1.35 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Seeing 1.46 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, lightning observed
   End: Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Got three targets with three exposures each plus one exposure of
a fourth target before shutting down for lightning observed on 
the horizon.  Overhead weather conditions were quite good, so the
observations made were unaffected, and the storm never made it to
the observatory.  Attempted to re-start observations at 
approximately 2 AM, but failed to get CCDS Acquisition Camera
running again due to failure in Cold Restart procedure.  Local 
copy of observer's manual has been updated.

Was unable to connect to internet after recovery from lightning
shutdown due to a problem at the 2.4m telescope.  Thus the late
filing of the observing report and nightly log.
