MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2007 Oct 27

Worked for 12 hours (all night)
Conditions were Mixed most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.
   Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable
   End: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable

Observing Summary:

Continued blazar monitoring. Some trouble with moderate
cirrus cloud cover, illuminated by bright moon.
Problems with the CCD temperature: Either dewer was
not completely filled, or liquid nitrogen was leaking.
CCD warmed up twice during the night, and dewer had
to be re-filled, which broght the CCD temperature back
to nominal value. At one point, the shutter was not
operating properly. After opening and closing manually,
it worked fine. A baby tarantula in the dome reluctantly
agreed to relocate to an undisclosed location.
