MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2008 Dec 18 Observer(s): Nathan Crockett Institution(s): University of Michigan Instrument: Nellie Worked for 5.5 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 17:30 until 2:30. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: It was too humid to open the first half of the night. Humidity dropped to a level where I could open at around 2-2:30am. I observed a couple of standard fields and took some sky flats at the end of the night, but the telescope kept loosing tracking during the night. That is, the tracking switch would turn off without warning or any action on my part. Furthermore, the telescope server also shut down several times throughout the night causing problems with TCS. Because of these problems, I was unable to observe any program objects. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Dec 19 [7:36:23]
