MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2008 Dec 30 Observer(s): Schroeder Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: CCDS Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: I could not get flats. There are so many light leaks in the telescope and instrument that we really need to wrap the entire telescope in blankets in order to get dome flats. And our flat lamp does not generate enough counts in the blue. However, there was not enough time to get the flats I need since it takes half an hour to get one exposure and we need about ten exposures. A blue flat lamp would be nice. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Dec 31 [5:12:28]
