MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Feb 02 Observer(s): armstrong Institution(s): columbia Instrument: templeton/direct Worked for 13.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 2.2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Well, on average it was *pretty* photometric, which is qualitatively different from mixed : the most accurate available description from this pull-down menu. All in all, I'd say 7 on a scale of 1-10. To be more precise: Beginning of the night was Quite Photometric, middle of the night was Kinda Photometric, end of the night was Sorta-kinda Photometric with patches of Not-Very-Much-At-All-(But-Not-Horrible) Photometric. Got three time series. Seeing began around 1.5 but ended around 2.2 amid the patchy clouds. Winds stayed low; kicked up half-heartedly late in the night, but lacked the spirit to do anything interesting (the garbage can in the dome at last enjoyed a restful night.) ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Feb 1 [6:55:21]
