MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Jan 01 Observer(s): armstrong Institution(s): columbia Instrument: templeton/direct Worked for 1 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Overcast most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Overcast, Winds Calm End: Overcast, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Clouds were hanging around when I woke up and stuck with us 'til about an hour after twilight. Then it cleared. Although I knew it was just a hole, I opened and got a 40-minute spectacularly mediocre time series on a cv. Then the window of opportunity closed. It's just past 1am now. By all accounts (sky clock, radar ...) the rest of the night's a no-go. So I'm gonna turn in. (Filled the dewar at 00:15.) Jeeze, with these southwestern clouds I just don't know what's going on. In the Northeast when clouds show up, you know they'll stick around for at least two months. G'night, ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Jan 2 [1:02:38]
