MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Jan 04 Observer(s): armstrong Institution(s): columbia Instrument: templeton/direct Worked for 7 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Started on time and got about 3 minutes of data before clouds made it impossible. Closed. Started again about 1 hour later. Got two short time series, each interrupted by patchy clouds. And the second series was also harmed due to increased winds. Tried to start a third object around 1am; waited 'til 2:30 and closed, due to clouds. Checked again at 3:30. Same. Now it's 5:15 and it looks semi-clear overhead. But the radar doesn't promise this will be permanent and KP hasn't re-opened. So I'll follow their lead and turn in. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Jan 5 [5:19:19] NOTE: This report replaces the previous 1.3m telescope observing report for 2008 Jan 04
