MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Mar 31 Observer(s): Denney & Watson Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: We had a bit of a bumpy start with it being the first night and needing to get everything focused correctly, and all of our settings correct. Also, the CCDS Acq. camera kept giving us problems, requiring a restart, and the finder mirror got stuck (see trouble report). Once we got past those problems, the rest of the night went relatively smoothly. We observed 1 full object (all desired grating centers), Mrk 290, and observed some settings for PG1229 and PG1704, although PG1704 is pushing the limits for this size of telescope. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Apr 1 [5:54:07]
