MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 May 03 Observer(s): Atlee Institution(s): OSU Instrument: 4k Camera Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: I began the night by taking a series of dome flats for Katie Schlessinger, as conditions were not suited to precision photometry and both of the variables observable in the early evening already had at least one night of extended data. As a result, there are no seeing measurements from the first third of the night. The rest of the night was spent taking two long runs, the first was an observation of a TrES-3 transit for Jason Eastman and the second was the CV DQ Her, observed for Joe Patterson. The night went very well, with the exception of the failure of the Mag-Lite in the control room. This had no significant impact on observations, other than as an inconvenience. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 May 4 [5:43:44]
