MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Nov 23 Observer(s): S. Lepine, E. Gaidos Institution(s): AMNH, U. Hawaii Instrument: MkIII spectrograph + Nellie Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Good night for spectroscopy, with some thin cirrus clouds after dusk and just before dawn. Again we broke our record for the most science targets observed in one night, with 95 targets total. We have had some trouble setting the telescope in DEC with the paddle (the real one, not the virtual one). Sometimes the telescope would not move. It would move with the virtual paddle but only for large offsets (>30 arcsec). We found that setting in RA would help unfreeze the DEC motion. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2008 Nov 24 [7:10:12]
