MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observer's Report for 2008 Nov 27

Bad weather most of the night.

Seeing and Weather:
   Rain from dusk until 12.

Observing Summary:

We opened up for a couple of minutes when the humidity
dropped below 85 % around 2:30 a.m. After one exposure,
the TCS failed. Even after initializing everything (re-
starting ISIS, TCS agent [tcinit o.k.; tcstatus reports
a valid TCS status], Caliban, and prospero; prospero
startup successful), re-starting TCS, TCS can not connect
to TCS server ( connection refused ). So, we had to abort
the observing run. Because of the TCS failure, we could
neither close the mirror covers, home the telescope, nor
fill the dewar (which we couldn't reach in the position
the telescope was in).
