MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Aug 22 Observer(s): Halpern, Nick Hunt-Walker Institution(s): Columbia U. Instrument: Templeton Worked for 8 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Despite afternoon thunderstorms, it quickly cleared after sunset. Humidity hovered around 80% all night, but transparency and seeing were excellent. The 1.3m tracked and guided very well. The images were better than I have seen before, consistently around 1 arcsecond. The only minor nuisance was a delay in the paddle or quider in moving north. It had to be held down for about 10 seconds. I think that this effect has been reported before. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Aug 23 [5:42:29]
