MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Aug 26 Observer(s): Terndrup Institution(s): Ohio State / NSF Instrument: 4K Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Stellar rotation in open clusters. This was a very good night. On two occasions, I experienced the telescope oscillation that plagued my run last June. Compared to then, tonight's problems were much smaller in amplitude and much less frequent. I was unable to cause it to happen, and it did not seem to depend on where I was pointing. I will explore this further during the run, and if I discover something I will put it in a trouble report. It went away if I moved the telescope a degree or so and then reacquired the target. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Aug 27 [5:07:35]
