MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Jun 20 Observer(s): Parks, Terndrup Institution(s): OSU Instrument: 4k Worked for 5 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 7 until 11:30. Beg: Seeing NA arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 3.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: I was unable to observe for the beginning of the night due to cloud cover and the threat of rain, however around 11:30 it began to clear up. I began taking data at 7:17 UTC with good focus, but the seeing was very bad (~3.5 ). The first few hours were slow since I had to constantly change targets depending on cloud cover and also wind was an issue for a short period of time. As the night went on things began running more smoothly and the seeing continued to improve. By the end of the night, seeing was consistently around 1.5 . There were a few exposures where clouds crept in and therefore guiding did not function properly, but other than that guiding worked ok. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Jun 20 [4:51:43]
