MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 07 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: templeton CCD direct Worked for 6 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 1:30 until end. Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing ? arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Again, ran time series on the 1.3m while also using the 2.4m. Good (near photometric) until about 1:30 AM, when substantial high cloud arrived from the SW. Because unattended operation depends on good conditions, I closed at that point. Once again the HA drive chattered loudly on startup, but following Bob's practice I punched the software paddle E, and that seemed to make it stop. No blown fuses this time, so this fix looks to have worked. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Mar 8 [5:35:50]
