MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 20 Observer(s): Laura Vican and Josh Schroeder Institution(s): Columbia University Instrument: Templeton Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: We started by observing a known CV, SDSS1057 for about 3 hours. We then switched to another CV, SDSS1524 for another 3 hours. We then tried to image an X-ray transient source, but were unable to see anything in the coordinate field. We then switched to imaging the Eagle Nebula. After taking a B-filter and V-filter image, we discovered that our R filter was too overexposed because the sun was coming up. Throughout the night, we had trouble with the guider. There were North-South oscillations which disturbed our imaging. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Mar 21 [5:51:00]
