MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Mar 24 Observer(s): armstrong Institution(s): columbia Instrument: templeton/direct Worked for 7.5 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Patchy clouds all night, but got a long time series on a bright cv that withstood the murk. Great seeing! At start of night, telescope briefly repeated the previously-reported sudden slewing. At RA=12:36 DEC=37:33; HA=-4:47; LST=07:44, as I hit start to guide on a star, the telescope suddenly jumped about an arcminute South. It did so again about 2 minutes later. So I gave up an attempt to focus and just started the time series. The glitch did not happen again. Am closing early due to some health issues; there's nothing wrong with the instrument. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Mar 25 [1:54:41]
