MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 May 02 Observer(s): Sebastien Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: MkIII + Nellie Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds High Mid: Clear, Winds Moderate End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Lots of patchy clouds, but with large enough holes that observations went uninterrupted throughout the night. Due to relatively high winds at sunset, I raised the drop-off to prevent telescope jitter from the wind flow. This also appeared to prevent the jerky motion in Decl. described in previous nights. I kept the drop-off up, even as the wind calmed down; this seemed to minimize the Jerky motion somehow. Good data haul tonight, with spectra obtained for 82 science targets. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 May 3 [5:26:08]
