MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2009 Sep 25 Observer(s): Andrea Kunder Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: 4K x 4K Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Nice night. Good weather. At the end of the night, when I went to take dawn flats, the telescope would only move when the tracking was on. When the tracking was off, the telescope would not move to home position. So I lost some critical time there trying to get the telescope to point to the zenith until I figured out that I would slew the telescope with the tracking on. One time the dome started moving with the telescope during the night. I didn't run any kind of tests to see if that was an anomaly or if the dome now moves with the telescope. (I still used the technique of manually moving the dome.) ------------------------------ Submitted on 2009 Sep 26 [6:19:29]
