MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Dec 31 Observer(s): Bord Institution(s): UofM Instrument: CCDS Worked for 7 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5-2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Problems plagued the night from beginning to end, and although I was open for some 7 hours, only about 2 hours of actual data-taking occurred. Night was characterized by no less than 5 failures of XMIS control window, numerous telescope slewing errors where instrument simply stopped moving, and, as reported separately to B. Barr, the dropout will not open now, preventing most of the AGN program stars from being observed. Finally gave up when instability/unpredictability of slewing and MIS functions raised concerns about doing real damage by continuing to observe. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Jan 1 [2:32:42]
