MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Feb 07 Observer(s): Fesen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Direct Echelle Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 4 am until 6 am. Beg: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: A mostly clear night with fair to good seeing. Closed up at 4 pm due to humidity rise above 85%. Had frost from on dewar window just prior to shutdown. Experienced major problems with telescope tracking during latter half of night. Telescope would continuously jerk 1 to 2 arcseconds every few seconds in a north-south motion...making imaging impossible for most objects during the night. Lost several hours of the best night yet.
