MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Jan 08 Observer(s): Jules Halpern Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: Templeton Worked for 8 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 2:00 until . Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Clear skys in the beginning, but clouded over solidly just before 2am. The telescope failed to complete a long slew, and had to be pointed several times before it reached the target. Upon closing it was very difficult to home the telescope. It did not respond well to instructions from the Home Axes popup. Finally, after many telescope stop and starts, and reinitialization of the Control Panel, the telescope is within a fraction of a degree of home. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Jan 9 [3:17:42] NOTE: This report replaces the previous 1.3m telescope observing report for 2010 Jan 08
