MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2010 Nov 19 Observer(s): Bird Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 6 hours (off and on through the night) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.1 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Overcast, Winds High End: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds High Observing Summary: The telescope and instrument behaved very well. The weather, on the other hand, was a very poor friend indeed. Most of the sky was covered with thin clouds for most of the night. Add to that the nearly full moon and you have one bright sky. Got lucky in the beginning of the night as the objects were in a nice hole in the clouds. Could not get guide stars or even the objects in the middle of the night. Closed dome for about 1.5 hours for precautionary reasons (menacing clouds; the 4m was closed as well). Reopened about 0330 local time and got one set of standards and the last object, N4151. Looking through thin clouds and high wind the entire time so seeing was downright terrible and there was a decent amount of telescope shake. Other than all that, it was great! ------------------------------ Submitted on 2010 Nov 20 [6:12:18]
