MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Aug 30 Observer(s): Nathan Utterback Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Red4k Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 7:00 until 11:00. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Night started with cloud cover, but cleared up sometime around 11. After that, conditions were mostly clear with the occasional cloud passing by. Clouds also began to roll in about an hour before sunrise. At the very start of the night, distant lightning was also seen, but far enough away to not warrant a shutdown. We ran into problems with the tserver disconnecting periodically, forcing us to reboot hill and restart the interface programs. The centering of the telescope drifted more than would be expected throughout the night as well, requiring re-centering abnormally often. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Aug 31 [6:00:33]
